The Spa Living Retreat 2009 will be held in two very special locales.

Each has a unique approach to creating a serene and inspiring environment.

The first four nights will be spent in a holistic yoga and wellness center located in the Central Valley Region approximately one hour west of the capital city of San Jose.

This special eco-resort features a newly constructed, open air, palapa roof pavillion; an ideal place for an unforgettable

yoga experience with breathtaking views of the tropical rain forest mountainside while exotic birds fly overhead.

This serene property also features private bungalows, an infinity-edge pool and balcony with hillside forest views.

      Nestled on 8 acres, it is located in close proximity to Turubari National Park, an eco-adventure experience with rain forest tours, an aerial tram, butterfly garden where you can see the stunning blue morpho, and three different options for "zipline", an exhilarating experience of safely flying over the canopy of trees. Turubari is known to have the best canopy tours in all of Costa Rica. 

     AmaTierra's elevation, at 2000 feet, creates an ideal climate which stays between 62-84 degrees year round.

     You will feel at home cradled by nature amidst the mango trees and the sounds of the living forest in your tastefully designed suite. 

     Each of the 10 private casitas features comfy, queen size beds, Jacuzzi tubs and a private outdoor terrace complete with the traditional hammock.  Hardwood furniture and teak ceilings reflect the ambiance of the natural surroundings.

The second phase and last two nights of our journey will be spent on an organic biodiverse farming estate located in

the Northern Region, close to the quaint town of La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano.

 This beautiful property is a unique ecotourism destination and lodge dedicated to sustainable living in a tropical rainforest environment.

Adjacent to the farm is the 50,000 acre “Children’s Eternal Rainforest” conservation area and nearby Volcan Arenal.

      Here you will hike with eco-guides and botanists through pristine rain forest where monkeys, sloths and hundreds of species of birds and butterflies make their home. 

     We will have a chance to tour the working, certified organic farm and and enjoy delicious meals made from the natural, farm- raised produce, herbs and dairy grown and prepared on-site.

    The Sacred Seeds Sanctuary offers an opportunity to learn about the connections between medicinal plants worldwide, our health, and the need to conserve not only the rain forest but also cultural knowledge.

     Another fun actvity is to climb up the 50 ft observation tower to see the surrounding countryside as well as majestic Arenal, Costa Rica's most active volcano. 

    Then, after petting some of the many farm animals being raised on the property, you can jump in the natural spring-fed swimming pool, relax in the solar heated hot-tub Jacuzzi or lounge in a hammock.

    This living classroom is sure to delight and inspire.
